What’s In My Gym Bag, You Might Ask?

Or you might not, but here I am regardless.

I honestly never thought I would become a gym rat. You know, those fitness girls who look like they take themselves way too seriously? Well lo and behold, I have become just that. Okay, maybe I don’t think that I take myself too seriously, but you never know what others might be thinking. Going to the gym can be a really daunting thing, but I can honestly promise you that no one looking at you as much as you think they are. People are focusing on themselves and not worried about if you’re loading the squat rack right, or if your form is off. Education is key and the more you go the more comfortable you will feel! Once you get the swing of things though, it’s good to keep some tools with you while you work for new PR’s. Anyways, here’s what I keep in my gym bag to ensure I have all the tools I need to have a great workout.

First, I have my gym bag itself. I recently got this one from Lululemon and let me tell you, it was worth every penny. Perfect size to fit everything one might need.

The thing I couldn’t live without, pre workout. This was the game changer for me when it came to working out. The extra caffeine really allows me to push myself and work harder than I thought I could. I use the Beyond Raw Lit in the flavour Icy Firework. I’ve also tried the Gummy Worm flavour and it is great too. You can grab this pre workout from GNC.

Next, I have equipment. I got all of mine from Amazon, and I use the brand Peach Bands. I use their resistance bands for glutes, hamstrings, and quad activation before my workouts. I also use their barbell pad for hip thrusts (the BEST workout to grow your glutes) and the pad has saved me from lots of bruises on my hips. And lastly, I also use their ankle straps for the cable machine. Some gyms are restricting their support equipment to help with COVID, so having your own with you can be really helpful. A workout without music does not sound like something I would enjoy, so you can never head to the gym without a pair of headphones. I always keep my AirPods or my Beats charged and ready to go in my bag. And last but certainly not least in this climate, masks. I keep about 10 in the side pocket of my gym bag just incase. I hope this was a little helpful if you are new to the fitness industry, or even just curious about what I like to bring with me to the gym.

It is so important to stay active and keep your heart healthy especially during such tough times living in a pandemic. Exercise boosts your mood and overall health! Here is a quick workout routine to get your body moving and feeling strong!

You’ll need:

  • Water (very important)
  • A towel (optional, I usually let the sweat just drip!)
  • Energy (make sure you are well fuelled)
  • Very little space (easy to do anywhere!)

The Routine:

  • 30 Seconds Jump Squats
  • 30 Seconds High Knees
  • 30 Seconds Jumping Jacks
  • 30 Seconds Touch Drop Squats
  • 30 Seconds Squat Twists
  • 30 Seconds Squat pulse
  • 30 Second REST
